For various work, personal, "too fucking tired to even care", "I live Floriduh and smart bands skip the state" reasons, I do not think I've seen a live band in 2017. Me from 20 years would have not thought this was possible. I need to remedy this situation.

Well, if I hadn't already gotten a FLORIDUH 4 LIFE tattoo, that might be a possibility.

Also, my house is near the Red Star on the below photo and even though my state is devoid of almost all forms of basic culture that is needed to sustain basic amounts of happiness, I like going for long walks on the beach and standing on my hand-made patio that I made with X'd up construction gloves. Like I could do either of those things in Detroit or Omaha? I think not.

Samiam and Manalive (my favorite hardcore band right now)

St. Vitus club June 10th. Brooklyn. This should be a great show. Never saw Samiam before.

1. The Anniversary, June 11, @ The Troubadour (LA)
2. Cap'n Jazz, July 20, @ The Echo (LA)

It's looking like a reunion summer.

Jerry's Kids next Friday 6/2. It is silly that they are not headlining, but having talked to those dudes at shows, I'm guessing they just want to head home early.

I liked The Anniversary until I saw them live & they were awful.....but they played with Dashboard Confessional who I hated so much I was prolly in a bad mood when they came on....

I love Cap'n Jazz tho, I hope they come to NYC

The Anniversary show was pretty good. They managed to avoid the songs for which I don't really care, and they were fairly tight.

Can't wait for the Cap'n show in July.

Recently learned that Hot Water Music is playing in LA in September. I've seen them a bunch of times, so whether I go will depend on the quality of the new album (if it's like Exister, then I'll pass on the show).

Not that I'm aware of. And I should have listed Syd Straw - I think it's her tunes with Cait and Linda backing her up.

Last weekend was great for live music, as I got to see both Hot Snakes with Les Butcherettes and then Godspeed You! Black Emperor the next night. Tonight, I'm going to see Fu Manchu play at a divey punk rock bar! Next month, I've got Descendents (twice) and Calexico and some various local shows.

I actually made it to all those June shows, except for the Monkees show which has been postponed due to illness. A major bummer as it was the one I was most looking forward to.
All I've got right now for July is:
Mike Gent - Berlin (7/13)
Hold Steady - Asbury Lanes (7/28)

Haha. I’m not a baller, just lucky. What an amazing show. I read a review thT said Radiohead after all these years are “still in their prime” and I agree 100% 25 song set Heavy on latest album of course. If you go get there early and catch Johnny Greenwood’s Eastern/Indian music project as the opener. Very good stuff.

I couldn't make it to any of the shows on this run, alas, but yeah they've been a great live band almost every time I have seen them from 1997 to 2012.

Here's what I have coming up, though.

7/20 - Blondie/Liz Phair @ House of Vans (if I can get in)
8/22 - Beach House @ United Palace
10/19 - The Damned @ Stone Pony

There are some other things coming up that I'd like to see, but that's the only stuff I have tickets for at the moment.

I also got a ticket to see Mike Nesmith & the First National Band play a couple days before the "Byrds" thingy. That's an awful lot of SoCal countrified rock'n'roll over the course of a week.

I don't know about his new band but a Facebook post from Jawbreaker when the show was announced said it was OOFP. I really want to see them because I havent yet and I still LOVE that album(the split is great too) but I'd see any of J Robbins bands so it's going to be cool whatever........LSF is annoying live, I havent seen them in 20 years but the singer always got on my nerves......
