Regarding the "title track" of this thread: really creepy song. "Ashes to ashes, funk to funky, we know Major Tom's a junky; Strung out in Heaven's High, Hitting an all time low". And the little bass line and the eerie synth.
Like he said himself, an 80's nursery rhyme. Question is, is this the same major Tom? Maybe he drew a parallel with Aldrin? Or is he Major Tom? Or is Major Tom a psychidelic astronaut? I guess no-one knows.
EDIT:This was one of the songs that really creeped me out as a kid. I remember getting that feel from Sinatra's 'That's Life' as well.
