What are you looking forward to this year?

Me? Painting and other home improvements and playing the drums a bit after a three year absence

I'm looking forward to NOT moving. Moving is terrible.

And - here's hoping the Girls Against Boys and Circle Jerks/7 Seconds/N.A. and Verbal Assault shows aren't cancelled.

1.) 7 Seconds is playing? I missed that. Cool, glad to see the boys peeking out from that sad retirement cloud.

2.) Moving: Yeah, it's a total pain sometimes, but I'll be providing the opposite view -- I'd welcome the chance to strip it all down, start over fresh. We plan on getting rid of every stick of furniture, sell/donate/burn-in-place anything extraneous, donate all the old pots and pans and decor, and just go minimalist in a shiny, modern, new place sometime soon.

I don't know if it'll be the same area of the country I'm in now, or somewhere else (I kinda retired maybe five years ago, so I'm not tied down to anywhere in particular), but the thought of freeing oneself from the materialistic dross you acquire over the years, packing up a small van with a couple trinkets and guitars, and getting a new place sounds wonderful right now.

So I'd look forward to that.

3.) Travel. Looking forward to international travel again. Can't wait for places to open up so I can get back on to exploring this great world. I had a trip to Thailand and Budapest all planned out rigggghht before everyone decided to shut the globe down, had to cancel everything. I guess I could still pop over to Phuket and quarantine for 10 days, but nothing's open/fun right now, so not worth it, even though -plus side- crowds are super down. I've been visiting a ton of National Parks, exploring cool rural American places for the past 2 years, hiking around the mountain states CO, ID, UT, NM, WY, etc... flew to different corners of Florida five times to explore, got BBQ in Texas a few times... (even snuck behind enemy lines into California to hike Joshua Tree NP!), the Dakotas, New Orleans, etc... but I miss my favorite cities like Sydney, Amsterdam, Barcelona, Hong Kong, etc.
Truly can't wait to see if they open in 2022, or if those days of freedom are over for good.

Thanks, buddy. Between the fire yesterday and the shootings on Monday, it's been a rough week.

Hoping for another year's contract with my current client. 2021 has been one of the greatest years in my career.
Mayans MC Season 4
Ozark Season 4
Forming a band and writing music again, even if virtual
The gym again and cardio training
Other stuff
Maybe a Ric guitar.

I hope to find a way how to invest all the money that I make and cannot spend the usual way.
Listening to Punk today is like listening to Glenn Miller in 1982.

When I asked my sister what she wanted for Christmas she said "Paint my house". Fuck me. So over the holidays I went to Lowe's with her paint choices and when I spoke to the paint-mixer dude he just laughed and told me there was a paint shortage supply currently and he couldn't mix darker paints only ones that use a Base 2 or lower so I could try later or get a lighter shade. I told him "eh, just go one lighter shade, I'm sure she won't mind, I want to get this over with". Long story short, she did mind. She had this weird texture on her house so I couldn't use rollers only and the paint sprayer I had was not really meant for outside of houses, so it was a huge pain in my ass. Speaking of pain, my knees and back are fucking killing me, but I got it done! I still have paint under my finger nails. Hope your painting effort goes better! At least in Floriduh the weather was agreeable and I could do it in cargo shorts.
