I listened to part of “Bad Mouth” and part of “Waiting Room” and gave up.

That physically hurt as it ripped dozens of good memories away all at once.

Destroying childhood memories should have a bigger warning label.

Such little imagination or finesse went into most of those arrangements, honestly saddening. How is it a tribute if you just play the same song, but badly?

How is this still the high-water mark for Fugazi covers?

Covering Fugazi is rough.

I do like this though -- and so few people have heard it.

Go to the 30:40 mark of this episode of the Alphabetical Fugazi for an (almost) all-sax rendition of Joe #1.

Tribute records have always a sucked. The only one that has anything halfway worthwhile was the VU one from the early ‘90s.

Whilst a teenybopper new punk band, they're tight and this was a fun album.

(Unless, of course, here we are limiting "tribute" to V/A - many artists covering one band, vs. One Band covering many artists.)

I would consider that a covers record, not a tribute record. The only one-artist tribute records I can think of are both by Mark Kozelek: his AC/DC covers record and his Modest Mouse covers record (as Sun Kil Moon), I still might consider those more cover records that tributes. What almost always sucks is many bands all doing covers of songs by one band.

Yeah, hardcore bands covering punk/hardcore bands is always a fucking disaster.
