I have not had any alcohol since 11/5. I have cut back significantly in the last 3 months.

it may be awhile before i upgrade to w11 as i am not ready to buy new computers that it can run on

Kind of a bad time to introduce a new operating system that has higher requirements for processors when computer chips are scarce. Not a good move by microsoft imo.

I'm with Lew.. No interest or need in upgrading until we have to . Support for Windows 10 will not end until Oct. 14, 2025. I'm still pissed that MS f'd up my network printing capabitilies with their mid October update on both my home and office networks.

You've made the right choice. This system has errors galore.

I switched laptops to a refurbished MacBook Air a few years ago and couldn't be happier. I had a Chromebook before that for 3 years, but it broke down.

Anyway, I can't imagine ever going back to a Windows-based system for home use ever again given my preferences and the issues I had with PCs over the years, though I've had to use them for work purposes and probably will in the future as well.

I'll be holding off on this upgrade. Main reason is, currently I use a business class desktop PC, and this model is a refurb from a few years ago. Even though the processor is fast enough for Windows 11, it's an older generation type so not compatible.

The other reason is based on experience. Whenever Windows releases a new operating system, it's usually full of bugs. It typically takes months or even a year to get all that stuff sorted out. No advantage to being an early adopter.

I have 3 desktops and 2 laptops at home and wife and I play IT techs for our parents. Transitioning the parents at mid to late 70s to a new operating system will not be fun. If only I could get the mother in law to switch over exclusively to a chromebook like my parents have, I wouldn't have to deal with it then.
