Help identify this song...

Ok, it's a long shot, but I figured maybe someone here might recognize an elusive name-that-tune.

Late 90's / early 2000's era. I heard a song on WMNF community radio, never did hear a DJ shout out who it was. Unusually, I never heard it again, and it defies Google lyrics searches and such.

Poppy-punk-emo with highly mixed vocals and buzzy guitars, sort of along a J Church / Nor-Cal vibe.

Theme was a frustrated musician trying to write a song, but it's all been done before. The only lyric I remember is a bridge asking "Does it sound like Husker Du? Does it sound like total junk" or something like that, with the chorus hook "Because it's all been done before, because it's all been done before."

Someone's gonna knock this out of the park on the first post, and it's probably like, Green Day or something massively commercial that I should have known. But here we are.

My thanks in advance, oh nostalgia machine that is the interwebs.

Pop Sickle - All Been Done Before

{Verse 1}
I write some words and tear them up and start again and then I stop
Light a smoke and drink a beer, watch TV and think some more
Does it sound like Hüsker Dü or does it sound like someone else
Is it punk rock, is it pop, is it brilliant, is it chalk

{Chorus}
I could write a stupid love song
I could sing about religion
I could scream about the system
I could sing about myself
But it's all been done
But it's all been done before

{Verse 2}
Sit around most of the day just trying to think of what to say
Seconds tick, the minutes fly, the hours seem to pass me by
{?} I don't have much to say, I guess I'll try another day

It's hard to be original when everything's been done before

{Chorus}
I could write a stupid love song
I could sing about religion
I could scream about the system
I could sing about myself
But it's all been done
But it's all been done before

{Verse 3}
There is nothing that I hate more than doing what's been done before
I will celebrate the day when I hear things a different way
Maybe I should light it up and not care what the critics say

{Outro}
Because it's all
Because it's all
Because it's all
Because it's all been done before
Because it's all been done before
Because it's all been done before
Because it's all been done before
Done before
Done before
Done before
Done before
Done before
Done before
Done before

Great band. Members of Coffin Break, but less grungy and more, well, POPPY. First album had the singer Alcohol Funnycar play on it and sing a few songs.

Interesting! I loved AFC. Unusual/less predictable guitar progressions, nice lyrical twists. After listening to a couple Pop Sickle songs, I realized I have heard https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ex5aCNQ ... ps&index=3 Lost Myself In You and thought it WAS an AFC song... Hmm!
