Gonna have to go with 'Up the Neck' from their first album.

If you ask me tomorrow, I may say something different. But prolly not.

Such a difficult question. Probably.... "Precious", if I had to choose one.

That's easy one for me - "Tattooed Love Boys"

“Mystery Acheivment”

Saw Pretenders at Radio City- Chrissie was about eight-months pregnant with the side from Simple Minds’ baby so she didn’t play guitar but she and the band were smoking that night. I remember they opened with Hendrix’ “Room Full of Mirrors”

I saw the Pretenders at the NFLPA Pre Super Bowl party in Dallas in 2011 that was aired on CMT Crossroads and Faith Hill played with them. The TV show is here

After they went off the air, the Pretenders played for 45-60 minutes and played the rest of their hits. It was great!

It totally got by me that Johnny Marr did a stint before getting into an argument and leaving to go to The The.

Bad move.

Conventional pick is just about any song from the first album. Wild card pick is "Cuban Slide".

PS: Heroin sucks.

2-way tie between this and "Private Life"

scannest, I remember playing a dub of the 1st album that I had when I was 15 in the car with my dad and when the "I''m too precious, baby, fuck off" part of "Precious" came on, my ad pulled the tape out and threw it in the backseat. Good times. Similar reaction when I played "History Lesson, Part Two" a few years later, btw.

He's just on 1990's Packed iirc and that was after his stint in The The (on 1988's Mind Bomb, a FANTASTIC album), so I'm not sure about the timeline here.

Can’t choose just one.

Talk of the Town
Birds of Paradise
Message of Love

Yes, those are all on II because it’s their best record.

No way Jose, but I do like II a lot (just nowhere near as much as the debut) and "Talk of the Town" and "Message of Love" are 2 of their very best for sure. I almost snuck in the former song into this category.

"Night in My Veins" is a bold choice. I dig it. I remember them playing it the first time I saw them in 2000 at Roseland it was one of the highlights of the entire set (they were fantastic that night; less so when I saw them again in 2016).

I once saw Elvis Costello cover "Kid" in a medley with "Oliver's Army" about 25 years ago and I think he said the latter song was based partly on the former or that he just noticed a similarity since they came out right around the same time.
