Let's talk about Miso Soup

Is there anything on this Earth better than Miso soup?

If there is, I don't wanna know about it.

That would hit the spot right about now and it always does, particularly on cool, overcast days. So, in short, no.

A little known fact on this board is that I was the one who originally 'discovered' miso soup.

I hope everyone else doesn't start jumping on the miso band wagon. That would be unsavory.

I'm going to make homemade miso someday (the actual fermented soybean paste, not the soup).

I had Taco Bell today for lunch.

This intermittent fasting diet sucks. During the 8 hours when you CAN eat, you triple your intake because you're starving.

Man, what a drag it is getting old. When your metabolism slows down.

If I was a "freeter" suffering from a bleeding ulcer 5 weeks ago, I'd be glad you 'discovered' miso. Of course, I'd never even mention things like that on the interwebs. But life has been pretty tasteless lately.

Get rid of them as acquaintances. You don't need that kind of negativity in your life.

One of the lamest soups out there. No surprise that it's all the rage here.

Agreed. It's like a big bowl of nothing with a touch of zilch on the side. The food equivalent of those paint samples with 112 variants of White.

I like Miso soup, but rarely order it at restaurants because it's often made with fish stock, which I cannot eat. I should probably try making it at home again when the weather here gets colder. Done right it's good stuff.

Miso paste can also be used to make a very delicious dressing for salads and a sauce for your choice of protein.

That is hardcore. I'll pass. I guess this is for folks that like brewing beer, making homemade pickles, etc.

I don't make beer, but I make all sorts of other fermented, non alcoholic beverages and food. COVID hobby. I now have multiple jars of fermented stuff going at all times. :)
