Anyone here into this band at all? Mike Conley's project after M.I.A. The first EP was very much in the late 80s/early 90s melodic pop-punk/indie rock style like Replacements, Doughboys, Nils, etc.... they put out a subsequent full length that went more in the downtuned grunge approach and came off like a pretty desperate trend-jump, but it has its moments. The first EP is pretty great though, if you're into the other bands a referenced above.

I think I still have the CD of them. I bought it when I was on my mission to buy everything MIA related and affiliated about 20 years or so ago. It is probably in my pile of CDs to sell.

i bought this in a similar fashion, but didn't like it at the time and sold it. i checked them out again recently and think my ears are more forgiving these days, or just miss old stuff like this.

carlos soria from the nils played on their first demo too.

Had never heard of it, sounded good. I guess it just got lost in the mix, I had never even heard about the band
Always weird for me to think about the fact MIA at the end had two members that went on to start Big Drill Car...

I only discovered them about 10 years ago... they definitely seem to have been an "under the radar" thing, which is weird, because that video looks like they must have had some fairly decent label $$$ behind them at some point. Wonder why they never had more of a presence/visible profile?

I have these two CDs but haven't listened to them since I bought them from someone and not even sure if I listened to them then.

That song in the video has some Soul Asylum and Goo Goo Dolls (early) vibe to it.
