Sad news but at least he is moving his gear to a new location and continuing with recording.

I used to take my car to a garage in Arlington over by the Weenie Beanie. One time, I dropped it off and was wandering around the area, looked up, and there was a sign on a door in a non-descript building that said Inner Ear Recording. As a kid who grew up on harDCore, that was pretty awe inspiring.

I used to fly up to DC for shows & to see old friends. One time, I forced my friend to take me to Dischord House. I wandered up to the sidewalk, looked up, and there was random shit on the porch, much like your aunt or uncle's house. I took photos for my yet to be released "Salad Daves" cover 7". As a kid who grew up on harDCore, that was pretty awe inspiring.

I never creeped my way over to Inner Ear, but would have if I had the chance.

When we recorded there (late '89/early '90), it was in the basement of a non-descript suburban home. Is it still in the same location?
I only remember the dates because there was a pre-release, test pressing of 'Repeater' laying around that I was sorely tempted to pack up and take home.

It’s in an industrial/warehousey building now. I think the move was late ‘90/early ‘91.

Sad to hear. I also recorded there once with my grungy college band-Don loved us (not-ha ha)

I would have to look up the date but maybe '90 or '91. I don't remember it being in a warehouse, I have some pics somewhere...
