Ever encounter a book that took you forever to get through for some reason? I’ve been reading the Lee Scratch Perry biography People Funny Boy bit by bit for over a decade. The main reason is that it’s so fucking dense and packed with details that I only make it through a page or two at a time. Even though it’s ostensibly about Perry, it’s really an encyclopedia of pretty much everyone he ever worked with, which is a lot of fucking people.
