Got any tats? When did you get them? Why? Just curious.

No band tattoos, but I have one for my nickname

I’ve got a bunch because they are fun

I've heard that they are painful. A psychiatrist once asked my friend if he got tattoos because he liked pain.

"I like pain, it makes me insane"

OH WAIT!!! That's 'Gluesniff' from SCREAM. I think its on 'Still Screaming'.

A small „Hobbes“. from Calvin & Hobbes on my right upper arm. 1988 by Schulz, Berlin
A big lizard skeleton over my front torso. 1992 by Greg Kulz, San Francisco.

My dad had 2 tattoos on his forearms. So since being a kid I was quite fascinated by those.
Listening to Punk today is like listening to Glenn Miller in 1982.

I've got a silhouette of Pete Townshend on the verge of smashing a Les Paul, drawn inside a red, white, and blue 'mod' target. It's on my upper left arm. I got it just about 20 years ago. I often think of getting it touched up, but it never seems like much of a priority.

Hoolapopper logo, (an old band I was in, we all got them) upper left arm, 1994.

Utahraptor, upper right arm/shoulder, 1997.

I drew/designed both, inked by a friend who worked at a parlor.

I idly kick around getting another one from time to time, but if I'm honest with myself, I would much rather spend the $$$ on other things.

This is what it looked like when it was brand new. I've had it for about 3 years now, so it's a bit faded. As for why I got it, well I'm sure most of you could probably guess. It means a lot to me.

Here's a photo of me getting the tattoo right before that. I've been wanting more since then, but haven't gotten around to it. I didn't know this before my friend took me to the shop, but the guy who gave it to me is an old '80s HC scenester from Queens/LI who came up with Reagan Youth, Kraut, et al. so I felt honored.
