I had never heard this one before, only the earlier stuff. They are much better at this kind of pop than they are quasi shoegaze, IMO. Reminds me a lot of M83’s more poppy stuff.

I couldn't disagree with this more. I was so deeply disappointed with this one when it came out. I think my review doesn't really express that fully but see for yourself. I tried to like it, but honestly, most indietronica or indie-dance type stuff doesn't do much for me (with some notable exceptions). I still love the 1st 2 Lps, like the 3rd (should get it again; I only kept the 1st 2). But I'm always gonna like catchy, blown-out indie-pop more. Sorry, not sorry.

I finally realized who this record reminded me of (at least in the vocal department), Vampire Weekend.
