Bells Of...

Anyone else a fan? Greg? VS? Anyone else? I've had this when it came out, but ordered another copy as a gift for a friend who's wanted one for a long time. I'm playing it now and I think I've underrated this stuff. This is the archival release I'm talking about.

This release is freakin’ great. The rest of his work is a little more hit or miss.

11:11 is one of my favorite albums ever. Top 10. The follow up is good except for some questionable overdubs. I think Lawrence is kind of a genius.

I know very little about him or Bells Of... except for this release, but look what I saw on the Discogs page for Bells Of...

"A former semi-pro skateboarder and current organic farmer/ceramacist/guitarist/singer /composer/historian/poet, Lawrence McDonald formed Bells Of in 1985."

I can see why you think that. Wow.

Lawrence is also an excellent soccer player. I played in a regular pick up game with him for years.

Is there anything he's not incredible at? I mean c'mon now. There must be something.

This is the first time I've heard of them. Looks interesting.

Trivia: Alec MacKaye was their singer briefly. I think he played one show with them. I remember reading that he had joined the band in MRR. I was champing at the bit to hear them, but nothing ever came of it.

I don't think I have one and if I did I can't get to it until I get home in a few weeks. I did see the Qobuz has 5 different Bells Of digital albums including 00/85 (7 songs).
