Ned's Atomic Dustbin

Mentioned in the Shudder To Think thread by JGJR in an effort to derail, as per his custom.

But man, what a cool band! "God Fodder" is perfect.

One of my favorite albums in high school and it still holds up today. Whenever I revisit it, it tends to get multiple plays/repeat listens. I've never heard the later stuff. Has anyone else on here?

Second album is really good and def worth a spin but nothing touches "God Fodder"

Even I was a fan of God Fodder in high school - "Grey Cell Green" saw a lot of MTV airplay.

I thought you were class of ‘88 like me, Lew. God Fodder came out in ‘91.

I saw Ned's open for Doughboys in NY one night when God Fodder came out. I was not in the mood for any opening band when I was waiting for Doughboys. But NAD really knocked me out. They were terrific and I felt like a dick for my impatience.

Happy Mondays on the other hand, opening for Doughboys at Maxwells was a bummer. If only I had known they were fans of MDMA.

Oops! I was listening to it in college or after college then. I'm '87 high school.

i have fond memories cruising around with an old friend listening to god fodder and soulforce revolution a lot in high school.

i have the 2nd album and a b-sides comp of stuff from the 1st 2 albums that are pretty good, but hard to beat god fodder.

Is the B-sides comp you are talking about, Bite?

i actually think i have "and besides" and "0.522." "0.522" is the most comprehensive, but "and besides" is more succinct.

Are those some sort of bootlegs? I don't see them listed on Discogs unless I missed them which is entirely possible.

They're listed under "Compilations" in the main entry for Ned's. I didn't know they existed or forgot about them.

Really like God Fodder, but never heard anything after. I saw them once at the Hollywood Palladium and they had THE most annoying light show. It was impossible to even watch the band getting constantly blinded. The whole set...

Found some FLAC versions of some of those comps online. Thanks for bringing them to my attention.

Can we KINDLY stick with the more relevant topics on the board??

Like what was good in 2002?

PLEASE. You people are lame discussing records that came out in the 70's and 80's.

I spoke my peace on 2002 and you didn't like my choices.
