Not sure off hand, but it's probably Japanese.

Wikipedia claims Crucifix were d-beat, so I guess I have to go with Dehumanization.

it's hard to say, a lot of the early japanese stuff and the first wave of scandinavian bands like mob47, anti cimex, zyklome A are all pretty good. even a later band like warcry is worth a listen to every once in awhile. i will say this is something i can get tired of really quickly though.

I'm a fan of this, their early singles, and the album they made right after this one. I will say that the band did better on 7'' and 12'' singles/eps, and I think they were eclipsed by later d-beat bands. Still great stuff when I'm in the right mood though.

Yeah, I love mob47 and anti-cimex too. I don't think I've ever heard zyklome A. Some of the stuff by bands like Mob 47 and the Finnish 80s bands like Bastards or Riisteyt is just too chaotic and wild sounding (IMO) to what I tend to think of as the standard d-beat mold. I do love a lot of d-beat records from the 90s (labels like Finn Records were killing it then), but haven't heard much from the 2000s that I like. I agree that the sound can get tiring in large doses or even in small doses unless it's done really well.

Riistetyt were D-beat? I saw them with Raw Power in '84 and they sounded (and looked) like Hanoi Rocks.

Hmmm. No idea about that, but the two CDs I've got of very early 80s material are nothing like Hanoi Rocks. It's fast, wild hardcore with vox screamed in Finnish.

funny, not as bad as I thought it might be when I clicked though. I'll stick with their earlier hc material.

yeah, i guess most of that stuff is noisy, but to me it kind of fits the mold of what d beat was or would be known as. all of those bands would pretty much cop to discharge being their ultimate influence as well. zyklome a were pretty good. grand theft audio did a discog of theirs on cd, if i have it on my HD i will post it.

If you haven't already, check out "How Do You Sleep?" (Go Kart Records - 2000). It's absolutely crushing and might actually be the best Varukers record when it comes down to it.

Definitely not familiar with the later Varukers stuff. Might look into it at some point.
