I am seeing young blues prodigy, Kingfish, on Thursday night at an outdoor venue. I am seeing Reverend Peyton's Big Damn Band on Saturday night at an indoor venue, Ground Zero, which is part owned by Morgan Freeman.

I am seeing young blues prodigy, Kingfish, on Thursday night at an outdoor venue. I am seeing Reverend Peyton's Big Damn Band on Saturday night at an indoor venue, Ground Zero, which is part owned by Morgan Freeman.

I know nothing about the musician of the same name, but I just wanted to point out that growing up in Louisiana helped me immediately recognize Kingfish as the nickname for Huey Long. At one point, I went to school with one of his descendants.

I sometimes miss that part of the country very much. It's been a little over a decade since I've been to N'awlins, but this fest is in Mississippi, right? I'd guess Clarksdale or nearby.

Yes, it is in downtown Clarksdale which is where Kingfish learned how to play from some older blues musicians who teach kids at the Delta Blues Museum.
