From 1965 to 1981 NYC had a stellar music scene...then recharged and tore it up from 1989-1995
Is it heresy to say that as far as HC punk... they were lacking what DC, Cali
and Texas had to offer in those crucial early 80's?
I liked the NJ/CT HC scene more....and felt that Chicago and the Midwest were equal if not better.

I haven't heard about this, what's the story? I was friends with him but I haven't heard from him in a few years now.

a plaque was made to commemorate the first wave of nyhc bands that played the a7 club, and the undead and i guess ism got left off of it and they are bitching about it on facebook.

What about that bringing it back streetpunk style revival like Blanks and Casualties and LES Stitches in the late-80s/early'90s. I know they're not the greatest of bands but they had relevance here and hopefully elsewhere.

ISM and a lot of those bands on The Big Apple Rotten to the Core are about as overlooked as Kraut.
