I got a 4 pack of Road Crew at Tanczos Beverage, a local beer distributor, several months ago.

I had a few Lagunitas IPA tall boy type cans earlier this week. They're always on sale at the closest supermarket here, which is great; they're a $1.99 a pop; solid, no-frills, but amazing tasting IPA. I love it.

I could probably get it around here, too, then, and definitely in Philly (craft beer capital of Earth). I just wish the site was more helpful in that regard; seems more geared towards distributors ordering it for their stores, etc.

I am prepping a batch cocktail to bring to a party tomorrow. It's a sorta watermelon margarita - a 50/50 mix of lemon juice and pureed watermelon (both strained so everything is nice and clear) with some agave nectar standing in for the usual simple syrup. Add some tequila and instant summertime party.

I have never had a frat boy phase.
That said, I was thinking about making limoncello and was surprised to read that Everclear is the authentic spirit of choice. Fuckin' Everclear!

I'm probably going to skip adult beverages tonight. Just found out I'm heading to the Philadelphia Union game tomorrow night and some pre-game tailgating.

We have some homemade limoncello in our kitchen right now. We made a whole bunch some time back and now only have one left, I think. I can't remember what we used, but it was something similar; basically lighter fluid.

I thought that was from Three's Brewing here in NYC for a split second there; looks cool. Today, I made a Moscow Mule, though I used ginger ale instead of ginger beer and 2 lime packets instead of lime juice. Still so good and super easy to mix/make. UPDATE: I just made another one. It's always 5 o'clock somewhere.

At least 6 pints of Yuengling Flying Eagle and then at least 12 12oz cans of other Bud Light and Natural Light fruit flavored beers. On track for 24+ cans tonight. I blame it on the Descendents "Like The Way I know"

I just got a text from a friend telling me that one of my favorite breweries is in some deep doo-doo (deservedly so). this is from back in May.

This disappointed me greatly, but didn't surprise me, unfortunately.

It seems more like an industry-wide problem than just specifically them, but I will say that their beers are REALLY good, so it's disappointing for that reason, too.

Hung out with my band and the drummer‘s father in law, who made some awesome, crispy home made pizzas during the evening.
Listening to old records of George Moustaki, Edith Piaf, Randy Newman and the Easy Rider OST. He also had a good selection of old Bob Dylan records.
Had a blast and alltogether we drank 6 bottles of Italian + french wine I was told. Although I started drinking lots of water from the start, I had a major fascist Italian hangover the next morning. However it was a great evening.

Red wine never again!

I had one of these last night; a Greek variation on the Moscow Mule. I copied the ingredients, which are below. It was delicious!

MYKONOS MULE
GREY GOOSE vodka, Metaxa brandy, ginger beer,
muddled cucumber

It's Friday, and once again I am prepping a cocktail to take to party on Saturday. This time it's a Blue Hawaii, not to be confused with a Blue Hawaiian, which is a different drink. The Hawaiian has cream of coconut, while the Hawaii has a sweet & sour mix. The booze in both is either straight rum, or a rum/vodka mix, with some Blue Curacao (which is just an orange liqueur colored blue). There's also pineapple juice, which was a real pain in the ass (stuff is super pulpy).
Anyway, I suspect I'll have a couple drinks at the Mikey Erg show tonight but nothing so elaborate.

Made it through last weekend without any booze. This weekend may be a little tougher. Fridge compressor died and found out how much it will cost to repair next week. Hurricanes Fred and Henri dropped ~11" of rain on us in the last week and water leaked under the basement carpet again so we are dealing with keeping the area dry so we don't have to pull out any more carpet padding. And, I have our 27th annual fantasy football league draft this Saturday.

I hope you're feeling better, Lew. Everything in moderation, including moderation.
I got so drunk at the Mikey Erg show...it was terrible. I haven't been that out of it in years. Don't remember a thing about his set. Luckily I was with friends who got my safely home. Had to go back and get my car the next day. Just no fun. at. all.
Also meant that I couldn't enjoy any of the freaking Blue Hawaiis I slaved away at making for my party on Saturday. I still played bartender and they seemed to go over well.
So now I sit here sipping a makeshift version I scrounged from leftovers - Blue Curacao, rum, pineapple infused vodka, some lemon juice and some simple syrup. Very blue, very tasty.

I haven't had a beer since 8/14. Debating on having a few tonight and/or tomorrow. I have a fantasy football draft with some high school buddies tomorrow night that usually is a marathon drinking session. Not sure I am ready for that. Will see how that goes.

I did buy a six pack of Left Hand Peanut Butter Nitro Milk Stout earlier this week. May give one of those a try later.

Never mind that shit. IF you could get some REAL Pernod Absinthe, (NOT the crappy Absente) I way just break my long sobriety and hang out with you and the wife over outdoor backyard restaurant.

Would this work? It is the distillery that my former neighbors in IL opened. I will see if I can get some if you would drink it.

At a glance, that appears to be the real thing. I would only drink it in the company of others. Last time I had a real bottle was when members of Amber Jets, Dag Nasty and Serpico played a Dag cover set at on Halloween. Everyone made fun of me for walking around with a bottle of Absinthe. But those who I gave some to, chased me around the club all night looking for more. (Peter was one of them)

I love a good Sazerac, so believe me, I'd be chasing you around as well. Anyway, I hadn't had anything alcoholic in weeks until a Lagunitas IPA tall boy type can last night; pretty basic as far as craft beer goes, but always so tasty.
