I don't know your personal circumstances, but there must be a number of beers between "zero" and "20+" that would be satisfactory for a single evening.

Pffft. I routinely drank 20-30 beers a night and I turned out just fine.

I need to work on finding that satisfactory level. I had planned to stop at 12, but the night was still young. Then adrenaline kicked in and loud punk rock music. The rest as they say is history.

Sadly, I’m on a strict one-soda-per-day limit now. And I’m dreading the results of tomorrow’s cholesterol check.

Abita Amber’s right now. Gonna switch to Peroni after the tequila shot. Been cleaning up after a couple of inches of water in the basement. I deserve several drinks.

I've been dealing with water in the basement too. Thank god for the two bags of old punk rock tshirts I had in the garage that I have been using to soak up the water rather than have to keep a shop vac going 24/7. Even with that I still have not slept much the last two days. Wife and I have been sharing 6 hour shifts or close to that. Water is still running in but seems to be slowing down.

So far we only lost about 10x10 section of carpet padding which was from the prior two hurricanes in August. We've been able to keep the water from this hurricane contained on the concrete where we had already pulled up and thrown out padding from those other storms. We had 17 inches of rain in the last few weeks from those 3 hurricanes.

That stinks. We had some water come in from around a light fixture and some wooden window frames, but nothing terrible. There were some shallow puddles in our building's basement (where we have a storage unit), but again relatively minor.

Since this is a drinking thread I'll add that when it comes to Blue Curacao a little goes a very, very long way. I feel like I'll be drinking Blue Hawaiis for the foreseeable future.

Water is down to a trickle now so a few towels should last many hours to soak it up. We did get a full nights sleep last night. Worst should be behind us now until we have to get it repaired. Time to put more items on Discogs to sell.

I bought a 15 pack of Sixpoint a few days ago, 5 different brews, 4 IPAs and one Pilsner, all very good so far.

Aww shit, Lewdd that sucks. I’m pretty much done cleaning up, we had to throw out a couple of bookshelves & pieces of furniture but nothing too valuable. Records are ok…..
Water receded so it’s more of cleaning the floor now.
I hope your water has finally stopped.

And yes, this is a drinking thread. I’ve been drinking heavily all weekend and will continue today

I believe the water may have finally stopped seeping in. The few towels I had put on the concrete yesterday were enough to soak up any water and no water leaked beyond them which is a great sign. There is some rain forecasted for a few hours today so hopefully that doesn't hit the spot where the leak may be.

I have not had any alcohol this weekend (yet). Went for my normal six month blood work yesterday and had the best results in years. Have my follow up doctor appointment this Friday. May have a few today or tomorrow will see how I feel.

So happy to read that (results of the blood test)! And good luck with cleaning up the rest of the water (you too, drew). We got really lucky; just had a flying tree branch fall on top of the A/C sticking out of the window near where I'm typing this from.

Gonna take it easy tonight. Meeting a friend in the city for some pizza, likely with a beer (maybe two, tops) in the mix.

Tomorrow I'm camping with the family out in the middle of bumblefuck, PA. This is with a bunch of families we were close with when we lived in Philly, but we don't see very much nowadays. These things can always get a little out of control. Lots of booze flowing. I tend to over indulge out of nervousness - I'm expected to entertain folks around the campfire with my singer/songwriter shtick. They're all very nice but being I'm never totally comfortable doing that stuff. Fingers crossed.

I'd never seen that before; I got it in PA (just outside of Philly at a great beer distributor/craft shop where I've been able to find other rare variants before). You're welcome! It truly is the craft beer capital of the world IMO.

I thought they were based in Harrisburg, but I'll double-check.

We're both right. They started in Harrisburg, but moved to Hershey in 2011 and I never knew that they moved until now.

I went up to Beacon (small town in the Hudson Valley) yesterday to visit a good friend and we had amazing brews and pizza at this place:

https://hudsonvalleybrewery.com/

I don't remember what type of sour beer we had but it was really really good, as was the pie from the pizza truck outside; some of the best I've ever had outside of NYC or New Haven tbh.

I was at NYC Food & Wine fest yesterday from 12-5pm and I drank a lot of Scotch, Bourbon & tequila then to a Happy Hour for Mezcal Mules. Long day. Got pics for my wife of Kendall Jenner and pics of me with Jamie Foxx and was one of the coolest and most fun celebs I’ve ever met.

Back tonite for the event at the Intrepid Museum hosted by Rev. Run. Def going to be round2 of serious eating & drinking.....

BTW, we have a 5K tomorrow morning

Thanks. Sometimes just hitting shuffle works..... I was in Staten Island, The Roadhouse. I live very close but haven’t gone and now we have a new favorite hangout. They have their Super Bowl boxes running already too so I grabbed one, gonna go today and get another.
