So, is this switch over to 8-strings the result of DOT DASH moving to a power trio set-up, or is just a CHEAP TRICK obsession?

A little of both. The last record is 8-string on all songs but “Gray Blue Green” on which I played 12-string and a Bass VI. There’s also a Bass VI part on “Dead Letter Rays.”

Why would ANYONE buy a bass with more than 2 strings?

If you can't play a song with just 2, then you REALLY must just flat out suck.

I'm drinking Ice Tea, but I'm listening to Siege "Drop Dead" LP (on gold) from 2006 with the bonus songs from Cleanse The Bacteria and unreleased etc. Even today, this band sounds nuts to me. Like a tighter "Void". But what made Void great wasn't being tight, anyway....listening to them makes me feel drunk!

I had a Yuengling Hershey's Chocolate Porter at 9am. At about 2:30pm, I went to Taylor House Brewing in Catasauqua, PA (my original hometown) and had a Peanut Butter Porter, an Autumn Haze Dark American Ale, and a Blood Orange Wit. Came home and had a Yard's Love Stout.
Went to Kornfiends marketabout 5pm and had another Chocolate Porter, a Fat Tire White, and several Yuengling Oktoberfest. Came home about 8pm and had about 9 Sierra Nevada Oktoberfest.

Working on finishing the residual Irish beers in my fridge today so I can get ready to start Mexican May beers. At the same time, I am curating FLAC files of the best jazz songs of all time from 3 lists of the top 100 jazz songs of all time. Lots of crossover on the lists so I think it will end up with about 150-175 songs.

Plain vodka (Tito’s). I’m an amateur when it comes to liquor. I mix whatever is around that seems like it would taste decent. I have definitely been drinking more lately, but I still never drink more than one drink a night maybe once or twice a week.

What ever happened to Mike's Hard Lemonade? You used to throw 2 or 3 of those back in a night.

Tonight's cocktail is 2 parts vodka, 1 part lime juice, and 1 part blueberry syrup I made earlier. Splash of club soda. Tasty. Not too sweet.

Lots of Grey Goose & Cranberry tonite.....and gummies......but lots of vodka.

Listening to the new DREAM SYNDICATE " The Universe Inside" long songs and super psychedelic. I'm digging' it.

That sounds great and Grey Goose was my poison, but I can't do that anymore. BAD BAD things will happen (to me) if I attempt that again.

So yeah, my diet Red Bull was exciting enough.

I am spending a couple hours every day wandering the mostly deserted streets of middle Queens. I find records like this one are the perfect soundtrack. Long songs you can get lost in that don't demand all your headspace. You can sort of drift in and out of them. Also recommended along these lines - solo Thurston Moore and '70s Miles Davis.

Definitely. KIKAGAKU MOYO & EARTHLESS have been great listens too. I grabbed a bunch of Lee Renaldo noise stuff off bandcamp really hard stuff
