Blatz v. Filth

Blatz v. Filth

I gotta go with Blatz on this. Less competent from a musical standpoint but catchier and funnier songs.

Is there a third option?

He actually played on Staten Island with some of my buddies backing him up ('scab' Scabs, I guess?), so I'm going with BM.

johnnotkathi has a great BM story that he told me in person once. I can't do it justice here, though, and don't remember all the details right now, so if he sees this, please jump in!

As for the question, both? Blatz is generally way more in my wheelhouse (female singer, a bit more melodic if shambolic/falling apart, kinda X-like the male/female vocal thing going on), but I like Filth's Live the Chaos quite a bit, too.

I saw both these bands a bunch. Going with Filth. Their recorded stuff holds up better.

I booked both these bands. Jesse Blatz got naked and shoved the mic in his ass (I'm going to assume not all the way). Skinheads chased him out to and around the parking lot. Cops came, arrested him, and he was banned from Yolo County.

Played in between these two bands at Gilman once. You never want to play after Blatz (see above). We thought we were lucky to play after Fifth. But Jake threw razor blades all over the stage. Nobody was sure if they all got picked up.

Its a tie.

I saw Filth at ABC-No Rio and they were extremely fucked up on drugs and alcohol. One of them took the Staten Island ferry back to stay at the Agnostic Front house. Dude had to be carried off the boat. Felt horrible for him.

Lenny from Filth/Isocracy could use some $$$ for cancer treatment:

If this sounds familiar, it's because Mike from Filth just died from cancer:
