I'm intrigued. Where should I start? I like mariachi music.

"The Black Light" for their older sound, and "Carried to Dust" for their newer sound. They're one of my favorite bands. They started with that pure Southwest/Tex-Mex/Spaghetti Western sound, but over the years they've moved to incorporate a lot more jazz and world influences into their songs. I also really like their tour cds, where they continue to noodle and experiment with their sound. That's where they make some of the most fun stuff, I think.

Let me know if you want me to hook you up with anything.

Without a doubt, I'd say "feast of wire"

It's one of my favorite albums. It's got some of the jazzy sound that Matt mentions, and is a nice
Combination of great song writing and haunting sound-tracky stuff
Enjoy!

Try Neko Case's Blacklisted. They're basically her backing band on that record and it's quite possibly my favorite album of the 2000s.

Jenny Toomey worked with them for her '00s records as well.

Nice folks, too - those Calexicans.

So far, I've listened to The Black Light and Feast of Wire. The former didn't make a huge impression but I really enjoyed the latter. I'm looking forward to checking out Carried to Dust.
