This plus I hear lots of Blake S in his delivery as well. The new album is great (you all will be pleased).

"It's like Beach Slang thinks 'We'll Inherit the Earth' is the greatest Replacements song ever and decided to base their entire career around this terrible, terrible misconception." - Sal on Facebook

haha. See...I like that song. To me, they sound more like a nice mix of Jawbreaker and pre-fame Goo Goo Dolls (which, I realize both owe an insane debt to the Mats). The weakest link for them is the lyrics, which I can get past because the songs are so strong. Also his social media presence is awful...but that's a whole 'nother story.

I don't hate that song, but it is by no means representative of what makes the Replacements the greatest band of the last 30 years. It's like a filmmaker saying "Spielberg is my idol. Every time I get behind the camera I think about how I can make my film as good as Hook"

I don't. I think it's kinda good they're striking while the iron is hot. I think nowadays bands (full time ones) take way too long to release stuff.

True!!!
My only real gripe recently is with the vinyl preorders.
You get the digital format and by the time the vinyl finally gets into your hands, you are already bored with the tunes.

MUCH closer to the truth or how I hear it, I think. Many of their songs sound like they're from like the sequel to Dear You that was never completed.

Good to see he decided to send his blazer-and-argyle sweater outfit to the laundromat.

I hope Sal is sitting down (I don't want him to fall out of his chair
) But they actually cover "Skyway" here:

Heck, they played all of PLEASED TO MEET ME at the Knitting Factory in Brooklyn just a few weeks ago. I wouldn't come near it with a 10 foot clown pole.
