The Associated Press wrote:NEW YORK — Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry was taken to a hospital Sunday after he left the stage while performing in New York City.

Perry became ill around 9:30 p.m. while performing with Johnny Depp and Alice Cooper in his side band, the Hollywood Vampires, at Ford Amphitheater in Brooklyn’s Coney Island.

An administrator at Coney Island Hospital confirmed Perry, 65, was undergoing tests.

Hollywood Vampires record label rep Sujata Murthy said Perry was ‘‘stable and resting.’’ Cooper also tweeted ‘‘our brother’’ Perry is stable and with family.

A video posted by a fan on social media shows Perry sitting down on stage and then walking off in the middle of a song.

The band continued playing after Perry left.

I became ill while watching some Hollywood Vampires videos on YouTube. I hope there's no connection.

Only you and one other fan on here will appreciate this, but Ruth Ruth somehow opened the Coney Island show the other night.

Seriously; I'm not the biggest fan, but there's been so much loss this year already.

Yikes!
I was just looking at a typical HV setlist and they are a straight-up cover band, but get this - I was expecting 50% Aerosmith, 50% Alice, but nope. We're talking The Doors and Bowie and The Who and Zeppelin. It's kinda nuts. Like a rock'n'roll summer vacation for Johnny Depp.

Joe Perry's son and I work for the same firm. He's in the NY office so, regrettably, I haven't met him yet.

Was he also in 'TAB the Band'? They got a lot of airplay on the Underground Garage for awhile there.

Yep. I think he's got a new band now, though.

That's what I would expect, too (half Alice, half Aerosmith). I just wonder why they're playing covers with Johnny Depp, but if it makes them happy, then so be it.
