Yeah, I was gonna say "Dookie sells a million copies" if this was about the popularity of punk rock.

I know it sold more than a million copies. Lew asked for the "moment" it started. Do I really need to explain this??!!
xxxHunterxxx wrote:Yes. I, for one, would be fascinated to hear the story of how Green Day sold a million copies of their record in a single moment.

I'll explain it to you over a slice and a Fanta at Sbarro's.

I have not had Sbarro's in a while since I don't stop to get something to eat on the toll road overpass driving home from work in Chicago anymore. I also have not had Pizza Hut, Domino's, or Papa John's in about a year either.

At that show I was with two attractive awesome girls who caught Tre Cool's eye, so we went back to their car so they could smoke pot. I'm not a big pot smoker, I just wanted to hang out and talk about East Bay with Tre but he just wanted to talk to the girls. My other friend got out of the car when pot started getting smoked cause he fucking hated being around it. Anyway, Tre told us they were going to call their new record "Dookie". It might have been partly the pot smoke, but I laughed for like two mintues and told him that was the absolute worst name to call their first major label record. He said something like "Dude, Dookie is hella cool". So yeah, who is laughing now Mr. Tre Cool!

You're missing out. Sbarro makes the best slice in NYC.

Thanks. I'll post some photos from each show when I get home, so check back later if you'd like to see them. I don't think they've been posted elsewhere. This board is all about sharing stuff right?

Absolutely. Especially in Europe. Bringing MDC along on the 2nd tour in early 1982 was intense..
