Yeah, i just recently started listening to them. They're like a cleaner, somewhat less discordant Sonic Youth. I like that KEXP live in the studio performance.

Bits of the following new pieces of vinyl that arrived today.

BB King - Signature Collection 2LP 180gm
John Coltrane - The Hits 180gm
AC/DC - Back in Black 2003 Reissue, Remaster, 180gm - This thing is extremely crisp and clear in my opinion. It didn't sound like I remembered it as like a wall of sound from radio or CD.

But this was made after 1977...

and I thought you hated rock music as well. What's up with that??

I don't hate rock music. I just rarely buy any and don't listen to it often. I am going to look for a good priced vinyl copy of the first Van Halen album that was reissued on 180gm vinyl.

Good luck. That reissue goes for $$$ these days because it was made with the same stampers as the audiophile release. The OG might be cheaper and sounds pretty great in its own right. I bought a sealed copy a few years ago (with a nasty hole punch) for $10.

UPDATE: Looks like they re-reissued it with Chris Bellman mastering. He’s pretty well regarded, so it’s probably pretty good.

I bought the Hendrix greatest hits 2LP on Saturday. Not many more things left to fill out my "rock" collection other than VH first release. I may look into some sort of Rolling Stones and/or Who greatest hits vinyl though.

PEZZ 'More than You can Give us' (Catchy melodic hardcore and punk from Tennessee. Songs are so catchy that I can ignore the Mike Ness vocal copping.
Diaz Brothers 's/t/ LP on Boss Tunage records. In spite of the band's bad band name, THIS IS PRETTY DAMN INFECTIOUS!
Jaded Eyes 'Call of the Void' Beautiful guitar work and tuneful hardcore.

Unrest 'Perfect Teeth' (1993)
Unrest 'Live in Newcastle 8/2/1993' (Never heard this before. Very good quality. 4AD Records(?))
Sepultura 'Quadra' (New album. It is EXCELLENT. Better than their last 2)
The Lawrence Arms 'Skeleton Coast' (Newest album. Very rare I like a pop punk album these days, but these guys do it really well)
The Jersey Beat Podcast 'Episode 175' (Jim Testa picked a really good bunch of songs. Always liked his show.)
