...Do you have a suggestion??xxxMidgexxx wrote:If Kevin Seconds can write and record 400 songs in 2015, I can listen to 500 albums that I've never heard before in 2016 and blog about it.
This is going to be my project for the upcoming year. Rolling Stone publish their annual list as well as an 'all time greatest ' list. But I'm certainly not using those albums though I may take a few.
Please list suggestions here. If I've never heard it before and it looks interesting, I'd like to check it out.

As a once dedicated blogger, I think with the amount of albums more than a couple of sentences for each album is over-ambitious.

I don't really remember a lot about the bands on the first 2 volumes but I got hooked on a couple of bands on the third compilation. I personally really liked the emo/math rock tracks on this compilation. Some bands on this compilation have never released anything though. Some are famous (like toe and American Football). And it's legally free.
Forgive me if this sits on the wrong side of the borders of your taste.

Is the Desperate Journalist self-titled album on Spotify? If so, give that a spin and see what you think. Based on some of the other albums you've reviewed, you may like it. I dig it plenty, one of my fav's from 2015 that not many people seem to know about.

Cool, glad you enjoyed it! Smiths-y guitar jangle without all the Morrissey crooning. Vocalist Jo has a killer voice and they're pretty great live to boot (seen them a few times). Not toured outside Europe yet but I'd imagine them going down well in some music circles around North America. I'll have to think of another one for your list.

The remixes of M's 'POP MUSIK' should be able to carry you through the end of July at least.
