I LOVE LOVE Howlin Wolf, Lightning Hopkins, Muddy ect ect the same way I love
Hank Sr, Lefty Frizzell, Buck, George Jones ect...for me those semianl artists hit a raw deep nerve that modern music is incapable of touching.

BUT

I have to be in that mood...mostly I want to hear stupid fun loud rock music.

Pretty much this, but I only really know Hank Sr and George Jones fairly well (love 'em both, though).

My dad is a big blues fan, so I grew up hearing a lot of that stuff. I like it, but like scanny, I'd rather hear Zeppelin most of the time.

howlin wolf puts most of the bands mentioned on this board to fucking shame. who cares if LZ ripped off the blues? the final product is what counts, and LZ did it well.

I also have tried liking Pink Floyd and failed to see why they are so adored. Ok at best to me.

Led Zep are a band I like despite my knowing how overrated they are. I like the blues too, when I'm in the mood, I love some Muddy Waters or Hound Dog Taylor etc, but, the whitewashed repackaged stuff is like rocknroll junk food. Its dumb and fun.

You know who is super boring is Eric Clapton. Cream is cool, but that guy is such a bore. I dont care how much he pays homage to Robert Johnson, it doesnt make his music interesting.

I like The Wall and I remember buying the "Another Brick in the Wall" single when I was a young kid when it came out. My first exposure to them was probably that song on the radio. I've only recently gone and listened to the earlier records of theirs, some of which I really like.

I like a lot of Led Zeppelin but not every album was great and certainly not every song on every album, but that can be said about a lot of bands. Currently at my day gig I listen to music all day long on spotify due to how convenient it is and lately I've found myself playing a lot more classic rock. When you have to fill up 8 hours in a day I find I start getting bored of stuff easily or not be in the mood or can't figure out what I want to listen to and end up picking some classic rock stuff just for a change of pace.

The best songs on "The Wall" were never played on the radio. Let's get that straight right now.

Please explain this.

They're both songs that don't quite fit with the moods of the albums due to their pace and the expletives grab attention. I admit I hadn't listened to Not Now John for years and went to check it out via YouTube. For some reason, I thought it was faster.

Ah, so you mean the Soundgarden song "Ty Cobb" then?
