The album is really excellent. 'Charm Offensive' and 'Heaven Alive' (the first 2 songs on the record) are obviously sequenced accordingly. The spacier stuff toward the end is terrific too. I gather they got their name from A Jane's song. Playing the whole thing a lot lately. I hear Swervedriver, but not Pearl Jam.

Update. I listened to their 'Home and Minor' EP and its nothing like 'Everyone into Position'.

Home and Minor is quiet music. Yeah, shoe gaze or what they call it. The music is not horrible.

You had me until the words "Pearl Jam" appeared above.

It doesn't sound a lot like PJ. In this instance, PJ serves more as a signifier of mainstream alterna-rock.

Let's take another quick look at your review.

A couple of tracks on this album are unnecessarily long and just bore. The album won’t melt any faces off but would be the perfect for a coffee shop owner looking for unobtrusive inoffensive mellow background music.

Fair enough. I can't remember what else I reviewed that month. I was reviewing four or five CDs a month back then for a webzine which unfortunately no longer exists.

I remember another reviewer for the site had given their previous outing either 3.5/5 or4/5. I was letdown that I just didn't hear whatever he heard.
