Like food in general? Is that all you eat? Impressed.

five things i can eat any time:
panang curry (all thai food, really)
sushi
shumai
shrimp scampi
kung pao chicken

five things i've eaten that i will likely never eat again:
hairy crab roe
szechuan duck tongue
1,000 year old egg
maodan (duck embryo)
jelly fish

i ate all of the above and more when i was in shanghai a few years ago...there was also pig tails, duck feet, intestine...the list goes on. business meals demand that you partake of the local culture/cuisine. not surprisingly - the worst of it was the jelly fish and the maodan. two weeks later i was in beirut, eating sheep brains, balls and belly (the three b's)...and that seemed downright tame in comparison. oddly enough...they called the sheep balls rocky mountain oysters...i would have guessed it would have some middle eastern reference...like lebanon mountain oysters...or something. still - they were pretty tasty. and i'd eat them before i'd touch another burger from mcdonald's.

Jealous. I'd love to try the stuff you tried in Shanghai (I have never been to that part of the world, but would like to go one day), but I did have duck tongue a few years ago at a very nice (and kind of pricey) restaurant just a few blocks from here called Marigold Kitchen. It was tough to eat (i.e. chewy), but I liked it!

And wow, I had no idea that's what they were called in the Middle East, too, re: Rocky Mountain oysters. I figured that was just here in the U.S. I don't think I would eat those, but I love me some pork belly (since you were in Lebanon, I know they probably don't do pork there and you said it was sheep, but still...).

And I'm with you on the first 3 items you listed. I'm not a big kung pao chicken fan, though.

As a single foodstuff, I wouldn't agree. But add a pita, some hummus, pickles, cucumber salad, lettuce, onions, and hot sauce, and now you're talking. My list:

coffee
hot sauce
scrambled eggs
some kind of fruit
some kind of vegetable
beans
