Based on their name and the fact that they have been labelled "emo", I probably wouldn't have sought them out, but they were on a podcast I regularly listen to, and I was pleasantly surprised by their Red House Painters-y indie rock. I know their record originally came out 15 years ago, so they are hardly new. Any fans on the board?

Interesting. I was never really a Promise Ring fan. I bought one record by them, and it didn't really grab me. This band reminds me of RHP mixed with Butterfly Child, who are both among my favorite bands. Revisit it. You may have mellowed enough in the last 15 years to enjoy it. I believe they are slated to do more reunion shows here in the US.

Only dates I see now are in the UK for May.
