Lead guitarist, occasional singer/songwriter, and all around nice guy Jonathan Cummins has a new band called USA OUT OF VIETNAM and they are playing a handful of U.S. dates opening for Besnard Lakes in January. Dates are here:

Caveat emptor - they sound nothing like the Doughboys. Cummins described them as ELO meets SunO))) in some interview I read. Heavy, doomy, long songs, but with some melody lurking beneath the surface. I think I'll check out the Brooklyn show. It would be nice to say hello again after all these years and I could get behind some heavy, psych-y sludge under the right circumstances.

I can only guess it's heavier than Bionic, who had a more Grunge sound.
