Awakening, 1989. I remember being completely stoked when I saw it at the record store, and being completely underwhelmed after listening to it.

But yeah, I never understood all the hype about this band either.

So yeah...can anyone help out with the mp3s for this one ^^^^^^ and "Gin and Innuendos"? I'll give a huge cyber hug.

Do you spin vinyl at all? I'll send you my copy. I haven't listened to it in probably 20 years, and I don't have a working turntable at present.

I found a copy of the Warfrat Tales compilation Lp (featuring The Last but also The Question, Leaving Trains, Wednesday Week and others from the early '80s Paisley Underground scene) today for 8 bucks. It's in perfect shape! That and Field Day in one trip = score!

I can't wait to hear it. I played my copy of Field Day first, but haven't had a chance to listen to it yet. In case you're interested, some live video of The Question surfaced on YouTube a few years ago.

sorry to go off on an essay, but I had chicken. it was at this place called the Piehole in Los Angeles. When I had it 2 years ago, it was the best chicken pot pie I've ever had. this time around was good, but much smaller.

Ever been to the Apple Pan in West LA (it's LA so it relates to The Last; sort of; ha ha; I know I'm veering off-topic as well)? It is fantastic.

Look at that Dr. Pepper bottle! I bet it's one of those with proper sugar instead of corn syrup.

I once ordered a case of Dr. Pepper from the original bottling plant in Dublin, TX. It was well worth whatever exorbitant sum I paid at the time.

This is a great record. The punkier songs are growing on me and there are plenty of tunes featuring the classic Last sound.

I like this. not that I'm trying sell the album, but I always thought it was a solid album and then to read hunter's opinion now as opposed to earlier posts reconfirms that other people think it's great too.

just some chatter, "Difference," "Danger" and "I Don't Know What To Say" (swoon quality here) are my faves off this album.

I don't yet think it's their best album though. I still find myself partial to "L.A. Explosion". Granted I have not even listened to them for that long so that could change but so far that's been my favorite.
