Midge's mediocre movie review

Big Eyes.
I didn't fall asleep completely, but this yawn fest had me nodding out. Meh acting and a story about those kitschy big eyed drawings and the woman who made them, and her psycho husband who tried to bilk her 'talent'. Damn, people were suckers for bad art back then.

The Gambler
Mark Wahlberg almost saved this (but not really) pretty much uninteresting story about a gambling addict who gets kicked around, pisses away a quarter million dollars of his mother's money, played by Jessica Lange who clearly used her plastic surgery disasters to score this role. He corrupts a black college basketball player to make the mob money and breaks his addiction at the end.

So much for my holiday break. Now if you'll excuse me, Pee Wee's Big Adventure just added to Netflix.

Oh yeah, seeing John Goodman's boobs in The Gambler was unsavory to say the least.

See the OG 70's version of THE GAMBLER with James Caan being the gambling addict who is just out of control. Remakes must burn.
