I very much enjoyed Scream, Youth Brigade and Snuff.
Listening to Punk today is like listening to Glenn Miller in 1982.

Saw SLF on the first reunion tour in Belfast,in 87 or so. It was great and very scary at the same time. Took me until this year to see them again.

Mission of Burma's first gig in London was pretty amazing.

It seems these days I see more old reunited bands than new bands. But that's more because that's the kind of bands who come here to play. Not so many new bands ,to my taste anyway, seem to play here.

I'm not sure if they ever broke up but the best old time punk band I've ever seen is the Mekons doing an acoustic set at Iota a couple of years ago. I'm a casual Mekons fan at best but they were mind blowingly great. Best reunited DC band I've seen is either Dag Nasty or the GI 2010 or 2012 reunions.

Can't really remember details as such, just that it was very tense. I'm sure stuff had happened in the lead up,but there were definitely "sides". I remember a flag being raised at one point between bands and a riot almost erupting. The crowd was incredibly loud and there were chants that made me feel a little uneasy. A lot of skinheads and very intimidating punks and an awful lot of fights. I was just a young skater who was getting into punk having been into metal and the tension at the SLF gig made anything I'd previously encountered at metal gigs seem like a walk in the park.

I remember the lp coming out from that tour and being really disappointed it wasn't from the Belfast gig. I was thinking shouldn't a Belfast band have that gig as the record? In retrospect,I can imagine it would not have been a good idea.

Thanks for all who chose any of the GI gigs. And to think a GI Reunion could be up there with Chick Corea- :o

Mine:

Youth Brigade/BMB/Dag Nasty/Kingface - Salad Days Black Cat - 2013
The Plimsouls @ Jammin' Java - early 2000's ?
FLAG (w/ surprise guest Milo on "Damaged" encore!)- Baltimore Soundstage - 2013
Hyaa!/Mother May I - Iota - 2012
Marginal Man -Black Cat -2012
The Bizzaros - WDC '2012 ?
Soulside - Black Cat - 2014
GI is a group of grown men who enjoy torturing each other and the crowd.

I was at that Undertones show (well actually both shows they played at Knitting Factory in 2004; both were great!). I was also at the Stooges show at Roseland which was right after that Jones Beach show. It remains the best show I've ever seen.

First reunion show DESCENDENTS did in the fall of 96 was at a gay bar Nightengales. It wasn't really announced, but was CRAZY, CRAZY packed. First song in power went out, I was standing on Bill's drum cases next to Jon Snodgrass, bend over because the ceiling was so low. It was so unbelievable that we were seeing DESCENDENTS. Afterwards everyone was wide eyed, unable to believe what had happened, this is band included. Truly a high mark for me.

If you are into a forum where a grown man is spending his Saturday night watching various hair metal videos on YouTube, you’re in the right place.

Related note: Warrant had some kick ass songs.

Honestly, past 7th grade, who cares what other people listen to? I’m genuinely shocked that it bothers you, a grown man like myself, that much. Maybe it’s just because I’m bored on a Saturday night but I find it hilarious that someones musical taste SICKENS you. I am actually laughing as I type that.

Do you seriously thing I give a flying fuck what some internet tuff guy thinks of my musical tastes? Looks like it's come full circle and the rednecks are getting all worked up because people aren't punk-fucking-rock enough. Blow it out your ass, tuff guy.

Tag team? LOL I was just chiming in that I think Taylor Swift is awesome when you attacked VS avatar. This may absolutely blow your mind but I LOVE PUNK ROCK! I have played in punk rock bands since I’ve been 16 years old, and now at almost 34 I still play in one. Just because like what you call “Carson Daly” music or whatever doesn’t make me any less “punk” than you or anyone else here.

Damn, not having a clue who Version Sound is in real life, I imagined her to be rather cute. Silly me. Still, in the end it pretty much sums up the essence of most things: a big fat nothing, left to our imagination.

And a Happy New Year to all of us suckers.

Zany Guys -Knights Of Pythias Hall Tempe AZ 1987
Weirdos -(with the Circle Jerks) The Ritz NYC 1989

I Was at that Jerks show also. Can't forget that night, my car was stolen from train station.Unfortunatelly thats what I remember most from that night..

I was lucky enough to see the Weirdos (when Cliff Roman was still in the band) at Knitting Factory (when it was still on Leonard St) in 2004. Great show!

Sounds amazing and one of the best gigs I've ever seen was the impromptu '93 Descendents reunion at City Gardens. I got to see them 3x touring for Everything Sucks and once at Riot Fest East in 2011 and they were all great, but none could possibly compare.

Was going to say, since I knew you were at this show....if you didn’t mention it, I’d know you were lying!

This is my response to all of the Taylor Swift "controversy." She's as relevant or irrelevant as anyone else on here. Who says who we can or can't discuss? Besides, I think she's kind of great. And what VS said about getting shit for liking punk as a kid really resonates with me, too, as well as Greg's "who cares" comment. I just don't give a shit.

I'd like to know what's so wrong with a stupid, happy song.
