Books about The Jam

Are there any really good books about The Jam out there that discuss the background of each band member, how they met, what influenced what they wrote songs about, what there musical interests were, etc.?

I have read a few of those books put together without the approval of the band, which are all kind of useless for what you are looking for. I have read pretty much every book on Weller, but that doesn't help you much for the other two members. Out of all the Weller books, I still like the Paolo Hewitt one the best.

I've got the book Buckler and Foxton wrote. It's good. I think it's OOP and goes for hundreds of dollars now. A Beat Concerto is a pretty good overview.

They're not nice to Weller. You won't like it.

Not that you like the Jam.

I have "Sounds of the Street" by Graham Willmott. I remember it being pretty good, although it has been awhile since I read it. I did read that Hewitt one courtesy of TB from Dot Dash a few years ago too. :ugeek:

I don't read a lot of band biographies, but I'd like to check out a couple of the books posted here at some point. The booklets in the old CD box and the newer vinyl boxset were cool, but not very detailed on the points 77 wanted.
