This is great - you can hear exactly what went wrong with Scott's guitar sound. What I suspected at the time: too many effects. All sorts of flange & chorus, and cables coming unplugged. No coincidence that the guitar was super quiet in the mix.

Even though Alexis couldn't play like he did when he was a kid, and Bobby had a hard time with the high notes - those things are to be expected. Don't know why Scott had to dick around with the dumb pedals.

Compare to how they sounded on their Euro tour, '89, when the 'Hot Bodi-Gram' songs hadn't even quite gelled. No pedals:
