Oh VS I was just saying...I don't know. It was first thing that popped in my head just they mentioned a lot. I didn't mean it in a bad way. Sorry!!!

I know people are thinking in those terms and it's a sore subject and that's at the forefront because of Clash77's this vs. that posts.

In 1982 I was 14 and listening to a lot of It's Hard, Give the People What they Want and Freeze-Frame. I'm sure I bought the singles for "Rock the Casbah" and "Should I Stay or Should I Go", but did not buy Combat Rock. Couple Go-Go's singles, too. John Cougar should be in there as well (American Fool was a big one). Oh, and that live record Rod Stewart put out on the heels of Tonight I'm Yours. That one got a lot of Walkman play.

Some things I didn't see mentioned elsewhere:

Nuclear Crayons 7"
die Kreuzen 7"
Husker Du - In A Free Land 7" (Everything Falls Apart was released in 1983, guys)
Mr Epp - Of Course I'm Happy 7"
V/A - Master Tape LP
V/A - Meathouse CS

And I'm sure there's loads more, especially cassettes, I'm just too lazy to go digging right now.

Faith/Void split, great record, but I´m at Faith side on this one.
I always likd better Void on Condensed Flesh demo and Flex Your Head trax.
Some trax on the split with Faith are just over the top, especially those horrible back up vocals on Organized Sports.
I´m probably minority on the board with this, but I stand my ground! :x

You are very much in the minority. The Void side of Faith/Void is the best side of punk rock ever recorded, period. The demo stuff is good, but not nearly as good as the 12".

I used to think this also for awhile, but I came around to the Void side of the split. Sure it's over the top, but the barely together, seething aggression of the thing (yes with touches of weirdness) are what makes it so special.

However, I was very happy to get the officially released complete demo session.

I am still more into Void demos and that will never gonna change.
Condensed Flesh demo is also intense and aggressive and has no weird effects.
I guess I have a problem with few songs they recorded again for split LP, the rest of it is great, Who Are You is total hit (and it was the first Void song I have ever heard on one of those Lost & Found compilations, ha ha).

All Void is good Void, but those demos are way too tame. The split kills.

And at least one that doesn't exist. I love the song "My Father's Dreams," but it is actually on AOF's "What We Want is Free" 7". Their other 7" is "Wait." Great list, though.
