Punk/HC from the former Yugoslavia

MRR (which I rarely read, but picked up for this issue) had a big article on this recently. Anyone here well versed in it?

I think the article are mostly about old bands.

Just wondered if any of the bands' music was worth tracking down and listening to.

Here is a link to the cover image:

Yeah, judging by the cover, old bands from the 80´s. It says part 1, Slovenia.
From the bands on the cover, I recommend you Tozibabe and Quod Massacre, I´m not that familiar about the other bands (from the cover) music.
But from Slovenian part of Yugoslavia from the 80´s, I recommend you Hardcore Ljubljana compilation http://musicnotnoize.blogspot.com/2013/ ... racks.html
Most of the bands on the compilation are good raw hardcore punk.
Also of Slovenian hardcore bands from the 80´s - SDA (Stres Državnega Aparata), one of the best ex YU hc/punk bands.

Also from Slovenia from the 80´s, Otroci Socializma was great, kind of weird punk, one of my favorites.

Check out this blog for the rest of Slovenian underground music.

We can do other parts of ex YU next time and other periods (the 90´s and 2000´s). ;)

Yeah, the all female Tozibabe were good. UBR's (Welcome to 1984) EP is good Yugoslavian hardcore stuff too.
