I'd have to disagree....

I count a bakers dozen kickass songs just on Zen Arcade...and to my ears
Warehouse has about 10.

Zen Arcade might be my least favorite HD. Different strokes...

Warehouse was the first album I heard by them. And it remains my favorite HD album. I think's it's extremely consistant with only one glaring clunker for me. And it did away with the thrash side of the band. I didn't mind that balance on some of the older records. But given the choice, I'd rather hear their pop tunes. The production is strange. But at least it doesn't almost make the album unlistenable, ala New Day Rising. I actually like the cover a lot, too. I don't know why.

I read that too. I'd like to think Bob is just trying to hedge his bets, or not let anything out prematurely. But there is no way the Numero 'project' is gonna consist exclusively of a couple old demos.
Henry Owings (Chunklet) is doing the artwork and he has said this has been something like 7 years in the making and will be another year or two before it is complete. Again, that sounds like a hell of a lot more than some demos.

I love Warehouse, but I'd argue that the thrash side of the band was done by Flip Your Wig. That's the demaraction line. It was supposed to be their first record for Warners.

I am only listening to
Landspeed Record
In a free Land EP
Zen Arcade
Metal Circus

The production of later records is too slick for my taste.

This is gonna be 5 box sets. The first 2 are out later this year, preorders in August.

Box 1:
Everything up to and including Metal Circus, including lots of extras, demos, rehearsals and live stuff
A version of Land Speed Record that they claim sounds great.

Box 2:
Zen Arcade and extras

You heard it here first. Consider this a scoop. :D

Not only does Numero do amazing packaging, sound, notes, etc. - but they are one of the few labels that haven't given up on CDs yet. Very excited.

If it makes you feel any better, they do have sales occasionally. I bought 5 or 6 Nikki Sudden records from them for $35 or something like that back in December.

To be fair, I have no idea how many they're making. You do have a point, though. Hüsker Dü are certainly more popular than most of the other artists whose work they've reissued over the years.

Wait a minute. I thought the Husker Du folks were looking to get this stuff back in print? Is it really just a bunch of limited edition box sets? They will sell out in a couple of days/weeks and then we are right back to Outofprintsville? I have all the records/CDs so I don't really care, but if what I read here is true, I don't get it.

The Limited Edition thing isn't really Numero's M.O. They make as many of something as they think they can sell. And they have re-printed things that have gone out of print.
They've never reissued a band as popular as Huskers. It may very well 'sell out' initially. But it won't be some numbered, when-it's-gone-it's-gone thing.

4 LPs/3 CDs - No date yet, but I like that title.

Image

FYI - since I posted my last comment, Numero started selling off all their pre-2017 CD stock for $5 per disc. "We're pressing limited quantities of all titles going forward. Just don't expect them to be around!"
Now, they haven't announced what that quantity will be for the HD box, but I suspect they feel burned by digital/streaming sales and are cutting their losses. Bummer.

I got the 4xLP, Book, 7", Coaster, Magnet, Postcard and Oven Mitt set. Yeah it was $100, but that is two tanks of gas. Guess which one I'm going to enjoy more in the long run!?

...and I'm loving the color cover for Metal Circus.

Everything Falls Apart has some straight up jams, Land Speed is hit and miss for me. The book and 7" (5 unreleased songs from Metal Circus. What?!) and colored vinyl kinda sold me on the deal. That and trying to get back to my salad days, of course.

Lots of cool info in this article:

(Opps, Flexxy beat me to it)

Including...
"We found this other set that was done for this Twin/Tone [Records, a Minneapolis label that was the home of hometown rivals The Replacements] showcase two weeks later — they played basically the exact same set," says Shipley. "They're even better than they were two weeks earlier. And the soundboard tape was way better. It was just a marked improvement over Land Speed Record. We said, 'Let's do a better version of it.'"

Ah, I was just having a laugh!
I know you Yurp people get rogered for postage as I once lived in several of the unwashed, dentally challenged countries that make up Yurp and the local natives would try to get me to buy things for them and sent to me.

I do think it's odd that they don't have a download option, perhaps that will come about if they sell out? There just seems to be a section of people that don't see the need to physically own something anymore or those that want it in such loss-less formats that vinyl and CD won't do. Personally, I just want to play the songs as I drive my BMW to Olive Garden.
