Deathwish-Reissue

No-not a Charles Bronson movie

Bobby (ex-DYS) 80's Boston punk band has just reissued some of their early material on vinyl. Check it out, I think a lot of you here will like this:

VS-The Loved Ones release will go back to a vinyl release shortly. The CD version was just a temporary option since there was a vinyl shipment issue.

Is The Loved Ones all instrumental? I like the two tracks they posted, but I'm not really down for an all instrumental record. If there are vocals on the other tracks, I have to wonder what they're hiding.

I know the game these days is for absolutely any chancer to put out vinyl solely to rake in wads of cash, but the packaging on this is fucking shit. One-sided record sounds good, but fuck all else just a die-cut disco sleeve with zero info/logo/lyrics and some crappy other CD that you don't need.

As lame and bare bones as the packaging is, I'll buy it if I can get it by itself. I'm not spending $25 on the fucking extortion package.

For the last time, it's not an extortion package. It's just that if you don't paypal me that $25, the documents, photographs, and videos we discussed earlier will be mailed to your friends, family, co-workers, and all the major news papers and cable news channels.

In defense of the packaging, I'm not sure if the whole band is involved in getting this out or if it is just the one person (Bobby). I have not seen the 2nd and 3rd parts of the vinyl yet. But $25 for 3 releases doesn't seem that bad to me (even if the material is short).

I will withhold additional judgement until I take a listen-that is all!

Three? It's just a one-sided 12" and a CD. That third single isn't part of the package.

Yeah, that one comes out later for added consumer milking.

So, does the Loved Ones record have vocals or what?

Yeah, sucks if you already ordered. 2 12"s for $20 is a much better deal. I finally broke down and ordered it, despite the lack of packaging. I still haven't seen it for sale anywhere but from the label.

I just listened to the Loved Ones CD, which is the same track listing as the 2nd single (which I don't have yet).

Only tracks #7-Starving For Attention and track # 10-What We've Got are instrumental VS
