If you're gonna continue to be obstinate and vague, I will challenge you here. "Big impact in the States" is so vague. Impact on whom?

Er, Bond's Fucking Casino? Shea Fucking Stadium? Vague and obstinate enough for ya?

I never said that The Clash didn't make a big impact in the States. Why are you putting words into my mouth?

The Clash and The Ramones. Great punk rock bands. No argument there. And London Calling is still a great punk rock album to me. Far more accessible to American audience than their first 2 but very punk rock. The Ramones (by the time Road to Ruin was released) were a lot more accessible to American audience, too. I think the Ramones will always be far more popular in the UK, and foreign countries than the US. Look at how insane/obsessive Brazilians are over them, alone. They were their countries Beatles.

Let's leave f'n Green Day & Rancid out of the picture because they are not/never will be punk rock bands. The Shaggs are more punk rock than those hugely popular, commercially successful, blend into the woodwork groups.
