I don't think they ever intend on releasing that Salad Days doc, just keep putting on shows.

Tickets on sale Friday

I was looking for a way to post this, but you beat me to it.

As it happens, I have been listening to Soulside these last couple of days, and I should probably consider flying over to attend. Finances willing :? Killer band.

Anyone else pick up the reissue of Trigger? I got it the other day, but haven't had a chance to play it yet.

I really wanna go to this (just for Soulside; never been much of a Moss Icon fan to be honest), but I doubt that I'll be able to. We'll see.

No, but I'm curious. Can you compare it to the original Soon Come Happy CD and report back?

Oh that will be no contest. I can tell you already since Soon Come Happy came out in 1990. I think the remaster (from the early '00s, I believe) would be a much better comparison or comparing the original vinyl version of Trigger with this remaster (same with the Bass 7", which I have, to side B). I found out recently (via Tom Lyle, so I assume he has some inside knowledge) that all of Dischord's vinyl reissues are from (I think 24-bit) digital sources, yet they sound uniformly great.

I didn't know Soon Come Happy was remastered awhile back. I know Dischord starting doing remastered CDs at one point, but I wasn't sure what all the titles were. Some of my current Dischord CDs are remasters and others are the original CDs.

Remasters are usually hit or miss with me. At least half the time, they sound worse IMHO. Maybe I will just look for the remastered Soon Come Happy CD.

I have to find a way to make it out for this. I probably listen to Moss Icon more than Soulside, but from the footage I've seen, Moss Icon seems pretty motionless live. Doesn't matter. It's be great to see.

Only a 13 hour drive. Hmm, that's do-able.

Yes, Moss Icon aren't exactly energetic. And we all know that the special guest will be Pea Soup. Like to see Soulside so better try making my connections now with someone. :|

If Midge was desperate to go and wanted some company for the ride, I would do it. But I don't love Soulside enough to do the trip on my own.

Looks like there's quite a few interested parties in Milwaukee. I should be able to get a group together and not have to spend a ridiculous amount of money.

That's definitely the cheaper option but I like having the individual records. I found a nice copy of the "Bass" 7" last year and I got a copy of Hot Bodi-Gram from welly a few years back, so it's nice to have a copy of Trigger since I didn't own it before. They added the tracks from "Bass" to side 2 for the reissue, BTW. It sounds really good, too.

Also: the 'special guest' is Holy Rollers, original line-up. You heard it here first.

The original band no longer speaks to one another. We had a huge fight in 2004 at Cisco's after Mickey threw a cheesesteak at me when I was still Vegetarian. It was a whole thing.

I just bought tickets.

Never really understood the appeal of having a "mystery" band, maybe to reward early buyers? But for the ones listed:

Swiz/Red Hare = Oh Hell Yes I Flew From Florida
Sweetbelly Freakdown = Oh Hell Yes I Flew From Florida
Holy Rollers = Oh Hell Yes I Hope They Are a 3 Piece And Only Play The First LP
Autoclave = Oh fuck? I Flew From Florida..
Branch Manager = Oh Hell No Mullet Rock
Gerunds = Oh Hell Yes This Will Put a Smile on My Face to See Peter Sing

It's sad, but I don't thnk I've ever heard Holy Rollers. I have hung out at Marc's house when he was out of town, though. Also sat at a table with him at my friend's wedding (the house sitter). He's a cool guy.
