Love it, though I'm still partial to WITS, which was not only my first CJs record, but also my first punk record not by the Sex Pistols.

Amazing, awesome stuff! Both Group Sex and Wild In The Streets. I've heard people give no love to WITS and I don't understand their (non)logic.

GSOH is also awesome. After that...good, but not great.

Maybe they only heard the remixed version which was inferior to the original mix. I just compared the two a few weeks ago and was shocked by the difference between them.

Group Sex is still in my top 10 list of favorite hc/punk records. It was just what I needed to hear in 1995. My friend borrowed me Group Sex on vinyl and said something like: "but, this more punk", because I was into hardcore, ha ha. When I put the LP I was amazed and thought to myself, what punk, this is hardcore. :D
I was never that much into WITS, maybe it is because of the horrible mix. I would definitely like to hear original mix.

I think VI is great, but I realize I'm in the minority there.

although the albums fall off in quality after the first three, i like the later stuff. the production just sucked. the versions of those songs on GIG are so much better.

My second favorite CJ record, sometimes my first.

Also, what I like about VI is that a young pre-internet Former Lurker spent most of 1987 trying to figure out how I missed a CJ record.

pretty much one of the albums that got me into punk rock in the 80's. this is why Southern California punk rock is my fave genre. You had amazing albums like "Group Sex," "Los Angeles," "Damaged," "GI," the ADOLESCENTS blue album, "Milo Goes To College" and the list goes on and on and on.

All that. I dunno if I'd classify it as my favorite genre, but one of them for sure.
