999

I was listening to Separates in the car today, and thinking it was a great album. I have the 2 on 1 CD with their first two albums. The self-titled is good, but I like Separates more. What do people have to say about their subsequent albums?

Hit or miss after the first few which were very good IMO. They did release one in the last 10 years that I thought was very good - Death in Soho.

I need to upload an album on my iPod because I really love "Homocide" and "Hollywood" and I'm sure there's more good stuff like that.

My favorite album is The Biggest Prize in Sport. Their 2007 album Death in Soho is great.. I'm not so keen on Concrete and can't really put my finger on the reason for that.

Concrete was the first punk record I ever bought (a Sex Pistols record was second) and I still love it to this day and it's my favorite 999 album because of that. All the stuff before that is great of course. "Homicide" and "Emergency" (great drums on "Emergency") are easily my two favorite 999 songs. The "Wild Sun" single is pretty sweet too, both sides.

I streamed "Biggest Prize" and "Concrete" the other day through my Google Music account. The former is quite good, the latter is definitely the worst of their first 4 albums. It's wasn't horrible, but it is the lacking in the songwriting and energy department. Separates is still my favorite of all those. I will probably buy the "Biggest Prize" CD and the singles comp. at some point.
