I got a copy of Astral Weeks for $10 a few years ago. The Georgetown store never seems to put vinyl on sale anymore, though.

I'm sure JGJR will chime in with a list of his purchases, prices and the dates on which he purchased them :)

I'm also expecting a story about someone from the '90s NJHC scene for each entry.

I love you both, too, and giggled a little at these (because it's true). But anyway yeah in recent weeks I have indeed discovered the joys of the sale bin at the two Urban Outfitters stores near where we live. One of them has a really small sales bin and hides sale vinyl in the housewares section away from the main vinyl section. I should probably check the one closest to here (work) over my lunch break one day to see if there is some vinyl on sale but yeah that is the only section I gravitate to as that makes it worth it price-wise. I picked up a 2012 Sea and Cake Lp for $8.99 last week and on several trips to the King of Prussia store, I got one of the Codeine reissues on Numero and before that a decent-sized haul with the newest Notwist, an old Thermals Lp and one more thing I can't remember (all for $4.99 each; that was great because it was part of a Labor Day sale and so I got an additional 40% off). I feel a little guilty supporting that company given their general shadiness (I know a bit about their history because they started here and have early connections to an organization I used to volunteer for) and the type of political candidates they support, though they have employed at least a few people I know locally, but ultimately I like a good deal and I love vinyl, so...

You don't even know how close that is to reality (though not today, but I am having lunch with an old college buddy at Shake Shack on Monday). There is one near my work and I eat there WAY too much.

Also, is "the Shake Shack" a proto version of Shake Shack kinda like The Facebook? Did Danny Meyer have to pay off the ones who came up with the name before he dropped the article?

Well, isn't that nice that Urban Outfitters are trying to be "hip" with the college kids who are playing records again. A person could even add an expensive Minor Threat tee on to that Dino Jr. LP. purchase :ugeek:

@stereogum UPDATE: Urban Outfitters lied! Amazon is actually the world's biggest seller of vinyl.

I think they meant to say "brick and mortar retailer", but they didn't 'cause they're weasels.
