Asheton (Stooges)/Thompson (MC5)/Recca (Stooges)

Yes, I have a CD-R of this but I will probably get this re-issue:

I thought this was about the UK band which I still think only have a few good songs to their entire career. And my favorite is in the Trainspotting soundtrack. They sure leave a world to be desired compared to Joy Division.

They still had more good songs than the ex-Stooges New Order. UK New Order was definitely more of a singles band.

I was never a huge fan and agree that Joy Division were much better, but there are probably a dozen (if not more) songs of theirs I like way more than "Temptation." "Dreams Never End," "Ceremony," "Blue Monday," "True Faith," "Love Vigilantes," "Bizarre Love Triangle" and "Vanishing Point" are all way better songs IMO. Oh and "Let's Go (Nothing for Me)" and "1963-95" are really great, too.

I've actually never heard this album. Saw the LP in a store yesterday, but didn't look too closely at it. I see now that's it's on Cleopatra, which is a kind of a sketchy label to say the least.

As far as the UK New Order goes, I disagree that they were only good on singles. Their first four albums are pretty essential in my book.

I love The Stooges. In fact, they are my second favorite band of all time. But this record sucks. It's VERY '70s rawk.

Thirded (though I don't think I've ever heard the New Order with Ron Asheton, etc.). I love SRB.

Yep, Temptation, Ceremony & Blue Monday. That about sums up UK New Order for me. :D
