Me too, and I don't even like it. All the people who think it's some kind of masterpiece but don't even own it should step up and prove their love.

I just got the ACE double CD reissue. In general ACE does a good job with mastering and the entire package, so I'm content with that. I've only listened to the first disc so far. Strawberries is also on the way.

Got the Black Album on my iPod but don't have on vinyl (and don't have turntable set up with speakers ...) so that's good enough for this Damned-fan. I do like some of the extras but not enough to buy. I mean 2 versions of History :?: Why does anyone need that :?: :!: And happy to be called a Damned Dork. :D

But I'm not a big enough Damned Dork to want tracks like "Ed Hollis mix" or whatever. Curious about some of the "Tiki Live" tracks like "Under the Floor Again or Gun Fury" since they don't do STRAWBERRIES songs like that often. Who's buying that one :?:

Wow, you hate the Damned after MGE :?: :!: That just seems insane to me because I have come to think: MGE, The Black Album & Strawberries are their best. And LOTNC are really not very good at being Goth. The Damned were Goth-Punk on TBA but never fully Goth as say Cure, Bauhaus, Sisters of Mercy, Siouxie. Vanian just toys with the Goth-thing & been doing it since the very start. I like his more Vampiric or Victorian-style but hate the Pirate Vanian, Elvis Vanian, and the more recent Vincent Price Vanian. He looks more like Inspector Poirot.

Sorry, but the LOTNC record sounds super dated today because of the cheesy production.

NOPE

Damned dork here and I list them thus...

1. Black Album
2. Machine Gun Etiquette
3. Strawberries
4. Damned Damned Damned
5. Music For Pleasure

Throw in a long LP of their 45's and B-sides up to the departure
of the Captain and I'm all set.

Not a single bad Damned record except for "Anything".

Not sure how anyone stops after MGE. Black Album is fantastic and Strawberries is absolutely perfect from start to finish.

The two newer records are both excellent as well (thanks to Janelle for encouraging me to check those out - well worth it).

I do not enjoy Black Flag doing their shitty DIO impression and I don't enjoy the Damned sounding like a whacky Stranglers tribute act. I'm a simple man. I enjoy the Stooges and The Damned with Brian James.

I may take "Anything" over "Phantasmagoria" and certainly over "Jack and the Beanstalk"

I like Phantasmagoria quite a bit, although it's the one I reach for the least (other than "Anything", which I never reach for).

I love Phantasmagoria. I like Anything a lot but not as much as Phantasmagoria.

All that said, I will be buying the shit out of these for my never ending Damned collection. I have a local record importer guy working on getting them for me.
