Anthrax

Christ on Parade

Both were way better with their second singer. Christ on Parade's first singer was awesome but I liked the second album and the two 7"s even more than the first album.

Wouldn't Milo technically qualify as vocalist #3? IIRC, Frank and Tony sang one song each on their debut 7", right?

Didn't they briefly have a female vocalist after those?

Sure, I'll bite:

Shelley was/is way better than Devoto.
I like all the Dag Nasty singers but Midge seems to choose Sir Smalley (because he's the 2nd vocalist not Peter).
Joan Jett was great (but never Cherie Currie) in The Runaways.
And (with the exception of Ron who didn't do much for me) I could never say any BF vocalists were bad. Love me some Keith & Dez.
Smalley has always been my favorite vocalist in ALL.

Glad that nobody picked the 2nd leads for: Undertones, Jam, Stranglers, or TSOL.

If you count Gwynne Kahn, he's # 4. Regardless of whether you consider Frank Navetta or Tony Lombardo vocalist number one, the Descendents belong in this thread.

Yep. Gwynne Kahn played one gig with them. She later joined the Pandoras.

According to this, David Nolte sang for them at one (I assume very brief) point, too. Anyway, I had no idea either Notle or Kahn ever sang for them!

I like Paul MacLoone just fine and the 2003 reunion album they did with him (Get What You Need) is actually quite great, but I would never pick him over Feargal (at least as a singer). That would just be wrong.

You should check out Joe Carducci's essay about Frank Navetta and the early days of the Descendents in the We Got Power book. It's fascinating stuff. Gwynne Kahn was, apparently, the granddaughter of this guy:

Bad Brains - counting sid as first, HR second, and the dude from rise being third. I go for vocalist #2, though I've never heard sid...
